Scalford grandmother seeks compensation after breaking an arm in a fall in Melton
Margaret Hainsworth (62), of Scalford, was walking along Sherrard Street while out shopping when the incident happened.
Two paramedics who, by chance, were driving past at the time, stopped to help after seeing her lying on the pavement.
It happened at 11.30am on Friday, February 17.

“She knocked herself out, and got a swollen ankle and a badly bruised right arm which we have now found out is broken.”
Mr Hainsworth said the couple, who have three children and four grandchildren, only decided to seek compensation after a hospital scan revealed the broken bone.
He added: “What makes it even more annoying is that several flagstones along that road are in the same state and yet nothing is being done about it.”
